Sara Perez - Define American

Sara Perez

Denver, CO

I was brough into this country by a fleeing Mother. Fleeing an abusive Husband and the tormented town of Ciudad Juarez. It has been many years since my arrival but still see no change. Even more that ever do I notice discrimination against undocumented citizens. Often criticized and asked Why dont you just become legal? LIke if it was that easy.

I can only hope in the years to come the U.S. can grant some liniency and asylum to those fleeing violent countries or environments. America was created by the very blood, sweat and tears I have shedded and of many natural born citizens. Together we can thrive and unite this Country.
