A poem that I wrote for Dreamers:
DREAMERS IN AMERICA
Providing strength in diversity And beautiful variety, Like strands of gold woven into The fabric of society,
Our Dreamers here greatly enrich American communities. How callous it would be to close Doors to opportunities!
Their contributions to our country Should NOT be disregarded, Buried in forgetfulness, Ignored, or even discarded.
They didn’t come here on their own; Their parents brought them here. Whatever the reasons for the move, One thing is clear:
Brought here at an early age, They grew to look ahead And now have fewer ties to The countries that they fled.
You might be an American Citizen, but do You understand that Dreamers are As American as you?
