Brenda Romero - Define American

Brenda Romero

Las Vegas, NV

Being the first in my family to go to college has never been an easy task and being Undocumented did not make it any easier. Pero a través de todos los obstáculos, siempre estaba mi mama y papá. They have given me more than just their love; they have given me endless support and the ganas to pursue my wildest dreams . They crossed borders so that I could have a better future all while facing nasty comments and looks because of their broken English. With all the struggles they faced as immigrants, it never stopped them from encouraging me to be my very best. As I crossed that stage, I was not just thinking of all the sleepless nights and hard work I’d put in, but also of my parents sleepless nights and tireless efforts to push me forward. This degree is not just mine, pero de ellos también. We did it, mi familia y yo. 💜#immigrad #porustedesyparaustedes
