My grandfather was born in rural Mexico and came to this country seeking a better life. My father owned his own business and was elected to the local school board and my mother graduated from college after she raised her family. I had the opportunity to become a highly educated professional and my daughter graduated from Harvard and is teaching. It is clear to me, that America’s economic, social and cultural wealth comes from continually embracing diverse peoples.
