Kaye Cruz - Define American

Kaye Cruz

Washington, DC

My parents sacrificed everything they had in the Philippines to build a better life for me and my siblings. We came to America with the promise of a better future. Although we had our struggles with immigration laws, we never stopped working hard to be members of American society. We gave back to our communities, and every time we improved our circumstances, we always found a way to give back to the community we came from. Being American is not only about having opportunities to not only better yourself and your life, but also giving back to others and helping others. I pledge to continue helping my fellow immigrants and to keep fighting to ensure that proper immigration reform is finally passed.

Let's Talk

It's time for a new conversation about immigration in America, and it starts with us.
